Bulgarian and French law enforcement authorities, supported by Europol and Eurojust, dismantled an organised crime group involved in trafficking human beings for labour exploitation and money laundering. Investigators in several European countries have taken action against the illegal streaming of pay-TV broadcasts, taking down more than 200 servers and making one arrest, according to the European judicial authority, Eurojust. Five suspects have been arrested in Germany and Norway as part of an investigation into an Albanian drug trafficking organisation that led to the discovery of 27 kilos of heroin and one kilo of cocaine in a car crossing the border between Sweden and Norway. Dozens of arrests have been made in Spain, Romania and Portugal in a coordinated operation targeting a large-scale pick-pocketing organisation that used the “hug-mugging” method to steal more than 1 million euro worth of belongings. Thirty-eight suspects were arrested in Spain, 3 in Romania and one in Portugal, including the ringleader of the criminal network. A criminal group specialising in the trafficking of anabolic steroids from Asia to Europe has been dismantled leading to the arrest of 24 in Slovakia, according to the European Judicial agency Eurojust. Several thousand steroid tablets, growth hormones and drugs, and two tonnes of non-compliant food supplements were seized during raids on properties in Poland and Ukraine. A total of 2,686 people were arrested for drug trafficking in the European Union last year by national police forces working in cooperation with the EU judicial agency, according to figures released by Eurojust. Approximately 2 billion euros in criminal assets were frozen and more than 1,000 weapons, mobile phones, laptops and cars were seized, worth more than 2.8 billion euros, the agency said. Dutch and French law enforcement officials have arrested 23 people suspected of "large-scale migrant smuggling" to the United Kingdom, European Judicial Cooperation Unit Eurojust announced on Wednesday. The detainees are suspected of having trafficked around 10,000 Kurdish migrants to the United Kingdom in refrigerated trucks and small inflatable boats, after picking them up from the rest area car parks between Le Mans and Poitiers, in the west of France. A global cybercrime network that sold hacking tools that allowed users to take over other people’s devices has been shut down in a major operation spanning several countries, Europol said in a statement on Friday. As part of an international crackdown led by Australia's Federal Police service, the EU’s police coordination agency said it had dismantled a cybercrime network called IM-RAT (Imminent Monitor Remote Access Trojan).
